Friends of the Library Projects

A brief description of the projects funded by the Friends of the Library

The Friends group has a 501(3)c designation as a non-profit organization, and initially began by working on a capital campaign for funding and replacing computers in the library. Because of their impact, the library currently supports 6 patron computers and an additional 3 library staff computers. They have set up a special account and will provide the Library with new and up-to-date computers and software.

Over the last few years because of their generosity, the library has been able to purchase new card cataloging cloud-based software, a patron door counter, a 55" TV & wall-mount for the children's area, 10 chairs for the computer bay and office areas, sponsoring children's entertainment programs during the summer months, and purchasing admission into the Carroll County Fair for our Summer Readers.

Besides their memberships, they are active in fund-raising activities such as their Spring book sale, a nut and candy sale during the Fall, and periodically a tour of homes during the holiday season.
